66. Leadership Secrets: 1. Moses and Joshua

As we move into the 2nd half of 2018, I, too continue on with my studies . You may not know, but I am currently studying part time, doing a Masters of Christian Ministry (MCM) under the Theological Education by Extension (TEE) course under Seminari Theologi Malaysia (STM).

I just completed the official classes for my 4th module: Pastoral Leadership and Ministry.

It was a good time of learning, and gave many new perspectives into leadership.

We studied leadership skills etc, and focused on a few Biblical leaders. I thoroughly enjoyed the session when we learnt about Moses and Joshua, two great leaders from the Old Testament of the Bible.

As I allow the details to be slowly processed in my mind, I decided to take the next few months (this quarter, actually) to share some of the leadership secrets I learnt from these two gentlemen of the Bible. Many of the skills are actually applicable in the secular world as well.

So whether you are a current church leader or aspiring to be one, this series of blog posts may be helpful.

And if you are a leader or going to be a leader in the non-church world of work or business, there are points herein that may prove helpful too.

SO stay tuned in the coming weeks….

Here's a sneak peek:

  1. Moses: Whole Life Development

  2. Moses: You are never too old

  3. Moses: The God Encounter

  4. Joshua: Succession Planning

  5. Joshua: Broaden your horizon

For those of you whom might want to know more about these characters of the Bible, go to the book of Exodus in the Old Testament of the Bible.

If you are lazy to read, or maybe after you read, there is an interesting movie that shows one part of the journey of Moses that you may find interesting, though the movie may not be totally biblically accurate.
