108. Training a Trainer (Learnings): 4. The Teaching Mindset

My weekly posts this quarter continues with looking at mindsets of a trainer or teacher.

I mentioned the Learning Mindset and the Sharing Mindset the past 2 weeks.

This week I will look at the Teaching Mindset.

A teacher has to love to teach. A trainer wants his audience to learn. Teaching is not teaching unless learning happens. That means lots of empathy. A trainer has to see things from the eyes of the student. What does the student need? What is the hearer straining to hear? What is the audience expecting?

Only when the trainer understands where the participants are coming from, will he be able to stand at the right place to meet them.
